84 Hatton Garden

Deconstruction | Strip Out | Asbestos Removal

Background

Hatton Garden is a street and area in the Holborn district of the London Borough of Camden. It is noted as London's jewellery quarter and centre of the UK diamond trade, and was also the home to the invention of the machine gun in 1881.

Now the Hatton Garden area has 55 shops representing the largest cluster of jewellery retailers in the UK, but also is the home to a diverse range of media and creative businesses.

Scope Of Works

In August 2016 Lancebox were employed as the Principal Contractor on behalf of Crown Group of Hotels to carry out the Deconstruction of the 4 storey building where the Ace of Diamond shop was located.

The scheme involved isolation of services, asbestos removal, strip out and deconstruction of the building in an area of high density residential and commercial properties. After the soft strip, scaffolding was erected allowing the front and rear masonry walls and windows to be reduced/removed using hand tools and hand held breakers.
